Shame I couldn’t give 0/5. Ordered rudbeckia cherry brandy and chocolate orange seeds. Only got approx half amount the amount of cherry brandy stated on back - wrote to Fothergills - you can’t email, never got a reply. Not one cherry brandy germinated and only 8 chocolate orange - as they have grown I am witnessing 5 out 8 with only the centre of the flower, NO PETALS and the other 3 with exceptionally small petals. NOT IMPRESSED.

Terrible Service
I ordered 2 plants in April, one arrived. The other was due to be delivered end May, then the end June now from from 7th July. This will not allow time for it to bulk up and flower for summer. When I phoned I was told I couldn't cancel the order as I had received part. Their excuse was the plant wasn't ready, but I have ordered this plant before on another site and it was delivered in early June. I wont be ordering anything else from this site.

Terrible service - no plants delivered
For the past 7 -8 years I had stocked my entire garden from Fothergills, mainly with plug plants. Last year quality and delivery had gone seriously down hill and making a complaint / getting a refund was difficult - I couldn't supply enough convincing photos of the damaged plants apparently. I almost didn't order again but in February I placed an order for seeds, strawberry plants and my favourite lettuce collection. None of the plants (due late May) have been delivered. I rang today to be told they were sold out. After some hesitation I was told I could get a refund. I also tried to ring head office but they don't take calls anymore!!! That's it , no more orders from me.

Thanks for you're reply. I am baffles as I received the seeds that were ordered at the same time. The online order may have failed ( I can't recall) but if that was the case I ordered over the phone. I have the confirmation email, which I will look up and send to you.
The recorded message on the number I was given definitely said it was not taking calls. Perhaps I was given the wrong number?

Bought some plants last
Bought some plants last. When delivered the plants had become loose in the box and were in box that was all soggy and almost falling to bits. I emailed fothergill who said was 'see how they go'!!! The plants were straggly and droopy and have remain the same since. I have given them time to establish. 12 months in total. Concidering I paid so much and waited a long time for them to arrive is a big disappointment. I will not be purchasing from fothergills again.

Chocamocha Cosmos
Ordered some Chocamocha Cosmos. The plug plants arrived today. Lush, healthy and carefully packed.

Delighted with them and have planted them up to grow them on.

False advertising
Having placed an plants back in February 2022 for delivery in March 2022 I am sorely disappointed with this Company. My order came today April 27th 2022!! The as advertised "garden ready young plants" turned out to be "plug plants". Customer Service is poor also. Will not shop on line with them again!!

Extremely poor customer service
Extremely poor customer service and just about the slowest delivery going! Placed my order on 28 March as a birthday present for my wife with all items showing as in stock. 01 April I got a dispatch email saying that the seeds were dispatched but the plants would be dispatched from 09 April. This was only a little delay so wasn't too concerned but having still not received the plants and heard absolutely nothing from customer services I emailed on 18 April to enquire. No reply for 2 days. I email again and get a fairly quick reply simply stating that dispatch will now be from 30 April. Clearly I was not happy with this response so emailed back and was told that it's out of their control. Well perhaps plant growth is but customer service isn't. Failing to inform your customers of a significant delay to their order is well within your control. Offering compensation for sub standard service is well within your control. Worst customer service I have seen for some time. Have cancelled my order and will shop elsewhere. Suggest you do the same.

PLUG POURRI
I ordered a couple of packs of seeds, four lots of bedding plants plugs and two types of gladioli corms in March. The seeds arrived quickly accompanied by two gratis packets which as previously turned out to be useless. The corms arrived just before three of the plug plants last week. The geraniums, lobellia and begonia were all nice and snug in their plastic boxes, albeit tiny to handle - especially the geraniums - and I quickly potted them up for the cold frame. But then the last order, Impatiens, arrived this week...and what a mess! Of the supposed 40 plants, not one was in its plug, with most upside down and unrecognisable as plants. They were good only for the compost heap. When I called to complain, Customer Services were very sympathetic and offered garden ready substitutes at the end of May, which is far too late for my plans. I settled for money back. The moral of this tale...whoever packs these plants must not be impatient with the Impatiens!

Superb plug plants
For many tears I have purchased plug plants online from another well known supplier . Over several years their products were gradually going down hill ( poor packaging , not being sent ) Last year I tried Mr Fothergill's and the plants were really good an well packaged . I have just taken receipt over over 120 plug plants and they are excellent

Pathetic took weeks to receive my order…
Pathetic took weeks to receive my order then in two parts, got 40 scarlet begonias 12 I saved the rest went in the bin, second lot was a complete mush off plants 6 saved out of 40, Worst company in 40 years of buying, Won't make the same mistake again, should have looked for the revue page first, 18 crap plants out of 80.

Took weeks to send out 3 small packets of seeds, charged a very high price and then delivered wrong ones. They never respond to email or even their own forms. Never again will.I order from them!

I find that the seeds are very touch and go in perfect greenhouse conditions. And why so mean? I will need convincing that selling 6 seeds in a pack and charging £3.75 is anything other than daylight robbery. Tomatoes, geraniums no results at all and overpackaged and easy to lose. What happened to paper instead of damned plastic? It sticks to itself making it difficult to get to the seeds.

Slow and unresponsive
I ordered around 20 items on 17th March ready for Mother's day - 27th March.

At the time of ordering there was no mention of any delay.

On 22rd they said that three of the items had been dispatched, six days after my order had been placed.

Mother's day came and I still had nothing. I emailed them to complain on 27th March and still have not had a reply to this.

Three of the items arrived on 28th March - eleven days after the order, with advice saying the others would be dispatched from 26th March. I am still waiting for these items to be dispatched, let alone arrive.

They seem quite happy to spam me with sales emails, but less happy to ensure I receive what I have ordered and will actually buy from them again.

On the whole, a disappointing and frustrating experience

A sort of a lucky dip!!
I purchased a combined packet of Sweet Peas of six differing varieties, packed in their own envelopes inside a main seed packet. On opening the main packet I found only TWO of the six varieties were named, as per the illustrations on the main packet front!!...In the end as I had no idea of the contents of four of the varieties...I mixed the WHOLE LOT together and now... (March 30th. 2022)...They are in my greenhouse, awaiting sowing!

Nasturtiums collection 2 packets tell…
Nasturtiums collection 2 packets tell you what they are the other 4 have letters that don't match what the remainder are so I don't no what's the packets are you do but every day people buying these have not got a eny idea bad marketing
